| About La Plata |
La Plata is an Australian Shepherd Kennel owned by Celeste Lucero-Telles in Los
Lunas, New Mexico. Los Lunas is located south of Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have
been raising and competing with Australian Shepherds for over 27 years. I got my first
Australian Shepherd in 1979 and began La Plata Australian Shepherds in 1980 with my
first ASCA Champion Bitch, CH. La Plata's Moonlight Fantasy. Since then, I began
actively showing and handling Australian Shepherds as well as being a member of The
Australian Shepherd Association of New Mexico (ASANM), which was the first ASCA
affiliated club in New Mexico. In 1985, I proudly became an Australian Shepherd
Breeder Judge, being the first Breeder Judge in the state of New Mexico. I have been
judging all over the United States and my Senior Breeder Judgeship in 1995. In 2005,
La Plata became a Hall of Fame Kennel and the 6th Generation of puppies sired by our
first BISS HOF CH. La Plata's Mystico De Colores X HOF CH. La Chiripada de La Plata
were born.

Both my children, Jake and Mae, were Junior Handlers
growing up. Mae, my daughter, was a top Junior Handler in
New Mexico. She occasionally still shows and is often Show
Secretary for ASANM. Mae is currently raising her own
Junior Handlers, Nicolas and Victoria. Jake, our son, is now
married and a proud father of Mina, our newest addition to
the family.
Celeste was also a veterinary assistant with Eye Care for
Animals for six years and is now currently part owner and
groomer of Serenity Pet Spa in Los Lunas and serving as
President for ASA of New Mexico.

| Our Dogs |
La Plata raise puppies in the family home. The pups and adults are loved and
treated as members of the family. Our puppies are socialized and intelligent
from being raised in the family home environment. La Plata breeds to improve
on the La Plata line and usually breed a litter every few years. La Plata breeds
for health, soundness, and type. However, we stress good temperament
above all else. Each of La Plata's breedings is well thought out, planned, and
researched, striving to breed healthy, well-tempered dogs that people want to
live with and have as members of their family. All of the La Plata dogs that are
used for breeding are OFA good or excellent and their eyes are cleared yearly.
Each puppy is carefully evaluated to determine whether it should go to a
loving performance or pet home. We strive to find our puppies the best
possible home, so we carefully evaluate any approved puppy buyer.
